John Vian Will





LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT OF JOHN VIAN, 1863

In the Name of the Benevolent Father of All, I, John Vian, of the County of Mercer and State of Ohio, do make and publish this, my last will and testament.



Item 1st: I give and devise to my beloved wife, Rachel Vian, all my stock, household goods, furniture, provisions and other goods and chattel which may be there at the time of my decease during her natural life forever.

Item 2nd: I do hereby nominate and appoint my beloved wife guardian of my children: Susan, Manerva, Matilda, John, Amanda and Mary until the said arrive at the age of twenty one or marries.

Item 3rd: I desire that no appraisement and no sale of my personal property be made and that the Court of Probate direct the omission of the same in pursuanceof the statute.

In testimony hereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal, this thwenty-seventy day of January in the year of our Lord, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-three.
