William H. Vornholt Will





LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT OF WILLIAM H. VORNHOLT, 1911

In the Name of the Benevolent Father of All! I, the said William H. Vornholt being of sound disposing mind and memory, condidering the uncertainty of continuance in life, and desiring to make such disposition of my worldly estate as I deem best, do make publish and declare, this to be my last will and testament; hereby revoking and annulling any and all former will or wills whatsoever by me made.

First, I desire all my just debts and funeral expenses to be paid as soon as possible after my decease.

Second, I give and bequeath to my beloved wife Louise Vornholt all my property both real and personal of which I may die possessed to be hers during her natural life, but she shall not have power or authority to bequeath or give any of my property to any one in preference to the other heirs not so favored.

Third, after the death of my wife, I give and bequeath to my daughter Adelia Vornholt my residence in which I now reside being in lot number thirteen (13) in the village of New Bremen, 0. in consideration of herself faithful service to my myself and wife, said residence shall be the full consideration of her service so rendered, all house hold goods to be included in the above gift.

Fourth, I will and direct that the residue of my property then remaining shall be equally divided among all of my children, to-wit: Henry Vornholt, John Vornholt, Gustave Vornholt, Emma Hirschfeld, Mina Kuenning and Adelia Vornholt share and share alike, except that the sum of seven hundred dollars shall be deducted from the respective amount that may become due to my daughter Emma Hirschfeld and the sum of Three hundred dollars from the respective amount that may be come to my daughter Mina Kuenning for the reason that the respective amounts above mentioned have been advanced to them by me during my lifetime.

I nominate and appoint my son Henry Vornholt and my son in law Emil Kuenning to be the Executor of this will without Bond.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand this 29th day of August in the year nineteen hundred and eleven.

note: William H. Vornholt died July 22, 1912 leaving the following heirs:

Gustave Vornholt, son, St. Marys. Ohio
Henry Vornholt, son, St. Marys, Ohio
John Vornholt, son, Toledo, Ohio
Adelia Vornholt, daughter, St. Marys, Ohio
Minnie Kuenning, daughter, St. Marys, Ohio
Emma Hirschfeld, daughter, Toledo, Ohio
His widow, Louise Vornholt, died before will was probated.
